Ranked brings structured, competitive online darts to DartCounter. Play 501 games against other players, earn Ranked points and work your way through the ranks during each season.

Every Ranked season game follows the same format, giving players a consistent way to test their skill. Your results affect your rating, while the leaderboard shows how your performance compares to other players.

An active DartCounter Ultimate subscription is required to play Ranked.

How does Ranked work in DartCounter?

Ranked is a competitive online game mode built around 501. Every Ranked game is played as a best of 5 legs, with the first player to win 3 legs winning the game. After each game, you gain or lose Ranked points.

Winning helps increase your rating, while losing will reduce it. Your rating determines your current rank and position on the leaderboard.

Because every Ranked game follows the same format, players compete under consistent conditions throughout the season.

Placement games

You start each Ranked season without a visible rank. Before receiving your starting rank, you must complete 10 placement games.

Your results during these games help determine your starting position for that season. For returning players, a soft reset means that performance from the previous season still influences this new starting point.

Once all 10 placement games have been completed, your rating and rank become visible. From that point, every Ranked game can move you further up or down the ranking system.

Ranked points, rating and rank

Ranked points, rating and rank are connected, but they each show a different part of your progress.

Ranked points are added or deducted after every game. Your rating is the total number or Ranked points you have during the current season. Your rank is based on that rating.

Win Ranked games to earn Ranked points and increase your rating. Losing a game will cost you Ranked points and lower your rating. As your rating changes, you will move into a higher or lower rank.

DartCounter Ranked Divisions

The Ranked system starts at Bronze and progresses through Silver, Gold and Platinum. Diamond is the highest rank. Your rating determines which rank is displayed on your Ranked profile.

Reach the next rating threshold to move into a higher rank. When your rating falls below the threshold for your current rank, you move back into a lower division.

Play Ranked with a camera

A camera is required for every Ranked game in DartCounter. It allows your opponent to see your dartboard and helps ensure that matches can be verified.

Players with a connected Target Omni can also use automatic scoring. Omni detects and registers each dart, removing the need to enter scores manually. The camera remains required, having a connected Omni is optional.

Players using Omni can also choose to search only for other Omni players. This only affects matchmaking and does not create a separate rank or leaderboard.

Climb the leaderboard

The Ranked leaderboard shows how players compare during a season. Your position is based on your rating, which means every game will affect where you appear.

You can filter the leaderboard by rank and season. This allows you to compare your performance with players in the same division or look back at the standings from an earlier season.

There is one global Ranked leaderboard. Choosing to play only against Omni players changes which opponents you can be paired with, but your results still count towards the same ranks and leaderboard.

Ranked chapters and seasons

Ranked is organised into chapters and seasons. Each chapter is a larger competitive period made up of four seasons: Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn.

During each season, you complete 10 placement games, build your rating and try to reach the highest possible rank. When a new season begins, you complete 10 new placement games before receiving your rank for that season.

Your results from previous seasons remain available. You can look back at your final rank, highest rank, highest rating and all games played during each season.

Your performance across all four seasons contributes to your overall chapter result. This result becomes visible once the chapter has ended, allowing you to compare your performance across different chapters.

Seasonal Ranked rewards

Ranked seasons include rewards connected to your participation and performance. The official seasons include a seasonal badge and trophy.

These rewards remain connected to the season in which they were earned, creating a visible record of your Ranked history.

Do I need an Ultimate subscription to play Ranked?

Yes. Ranked is an Ultimate feature, so you need an active Ultimate subscription to play Ranked games and compete on different leaderboards.

Do I need a camera to play Ranked?

Do I need an Omni to play Ranked?

No. Omni is optional. You can play Ranked with a camera, while players with a connected Omni can use automatic scoring.

How many placement games do I need to play?

You must complete 10 placement games at the start of every season. Your rating and rank become visible after all 10 games have been completed.

New players are placed based on their placement results. For returning players, their previous season performance also influences their new starting position.

What happens if a player cheats in Ranked?

If you suspect another player of cheating during a Ranked game, you can report them through DartCounter.

Cheating reports are actively reviewed by the DartCounter team. When cheating is confirmed, appropriate action will be taken against the player involved.

Does my rank fully reset after each season?

No. Ranked uses a soft reset between seasons. Your previous performance is still taken into account, so you do not start completely from scratch.

How long does a Ranked season last?

A regular season lasts 12 weeks, followed by a one-week break before the next season begins. The start and end dates are shown in the Ranked overview.

What happens if I leave a Ranked game or lose my internet connection?

If you leave a Ranked game before it has finished, the match is recorded as a loss for you and a win for your opponent. You will also receive a matchmaking penalty before you can queue for another Ranked game. Repeatedly leaving matches will result in longer queue restrictions.

If your internet connection drops, the turn timer continues as normal. You have up to one additional minute to reconnect before the game is considered abandoned.

Can I spectate Ranked games?

Yes. Ranked games can be watched, allowing you to follow other players during their games.

What rewards can I earn through Ranked?

At the end of each Ranked season, you can earn a seasonal badge and trophy based on your performance. These rewards are linked to the season in which they were earned and remain part of your Ranked history.

This gives you a permanent record of your achievements across different seasons and chapters.
