DartCounter takes the hassle out of organising darts nights with Local Tournaments

DartCounter is introducing Local Tournaments: a new way to organise and play darts tournaments in real-life settings. 

Anyone who has organised a night of darts will recognise the challenge: noting down players, managing matches, and keeping track across multiple boards. It is time-consuming and disrupts the flow of play. Local Tournaments has been developed to address this. 

From organising to playing 

Creating a tournament is available to Ultimate subscribers, while all other players can join and participate without requiring a subscription. 

Players can be added manually or linked to existing DartCounter accounts. Those with an account can join instantly by scanning a QR code or entering a code provided by the host. 

Built for real-life darts

There is no fixed order in which matches need to be played, as long as the tournament progression is respected. Games can be played on any board, at any time, allowing tournaments to run flexibility in real-world environments.  

Each match can run on its own device. Players scan the QR code via the host’s phone or enter the code of a specific match that is provided by the host to start the game on another device. 

The device used does not need to belong to either player. When players are linked to their DartCounter accounts, the match is automatically connected to their statistics. 

Once a match is completed, the device used to play the match records and submits the result directly to the tournament, without requiring input from the host’s device.

Local Tournaments are designed to remove friction from organising and managing in-person tournaments.
