Release notes DartCounter V9.6.4

What’s New & What’s Fixed: DartCounter v9.6.4 update

3 September 2026

Highlights

Camera Preview in the Ranked Queue

You can now preview your opponent’s camera feed directly from the Accept or Decline match pop-up before deciding whether you want to play them.

If you choose to decline, you won’t receive a penalty. You will, however, need to join the Ranked queue again before searching for another opponent.

Reworked Ranked Placements

We’ve reworked Ranked placements to better reflect your actual skill level. Your average at the end of each placement match is now taken into account when determining your starting division.

That means strong performances and higher averages can help place you into a higher division more quickly than before.

To further reduce large skill gaps, players below Bronze 3 will no longer be matched against players who are still completing their placement matches.

Together, these changes should lead to fairer matchmaking, closer games and fewer one-sided matches, making Ranked more competitive and enjoyable from the start.

Improved Ranked Point Rewards

During the Beta Season, we saw cases where two players in the same Bronze division could still have a large difference in Ranked points. For example, a player on 200 points could face someone on 700 points, despite both being in Bronze 1.

Previously, if the higher-rated player won, they could receive as little as 1 point, making the match feel like there was very little to gain.

We’ve adjusted the Ranked points system so that in situations like this, the winning player will still receive a more meaningful number of points. The lower-rated player will still lose only a small number of points due to the difference in rating.

This should make these matches feel more worthwhile for the higher-rated player without unfairly punishing the lower-rated player.

Loss Prevention

To help combat cheating and improve fair play in Ranked, we’ve added a new Loss Prevention system.

If you report an opponent for cheating and that player later receives a punishment as a result, you’ll still be notified as usual, but you’ll now also receive Loss Prevention on your account.

Loss Prevention protects you the next time you lose a Ranked match, meaning you won’t lose any Ranked points for that defeat.

This should make reporting suspicious behaviour feel more worthwhile, while also reducing the frustration of losing points against someone who wasn’t playing fairly.
