What’s New & What’s Fixed: DartCounter v9.8.0 update
20 October 2026
Highlights
Introducing Party Games: Starting with Killer!
We’re introducing Party Games, a brand-new category of game modes in DartCounter designed to bring a different kind of darts experience to the board. With a focus on fun, competition and playing together, Party Games are all about enjoying darts with friends and larger groups.
Our first Party Game is Killer, a well-known darts classic where the goal is simple: be the last player standing! Claim your own segment, become a Killer and take out your opponents by hitting their numbers. Play locally with 2 to 12 players, individually or in teams, with online support coming soon!
And this is just the beginning! While Killer brings a familiar favourite to DartCounter, we’re already working on unique new Party Games that introduce completely different ways to play darts. Expect more fun, more variety and new reasons to get everyone around the board!
Profile Redesign
Your DartCounter profile has a fresh new look! Alongside your existing statistics, we’ve added a dedicated space to show off your Ranked status and a brand-new trophy cabinet just waiting to be filled!
You can now also share your DartCounter profile with anyone, even if they don’t have an account or aren’t signed in. Show off your progress, achievements and darts journey like never before!
Improved External Camera Linking
Connecting an external camera to DartCounter is now easier than ever! Instead of using a password combination or scanning a QR code, you can now simply sign in to your DartCounter account and your connected devices will be detected automatically.
Just select the device you want to use, and your camera is ready to go. Less setup, more time to focus on your darts!
Player Statuses
You’ve been asking for this one for a while, and it’s finally here: Player Statuses! You can now set your status to Busy or Offline, letting your friends know you’re not available for a game.
While you're busy or offline, game invites will be blocked, so you can focus on your training sessions or enjoy some uninterrupted darts without distractions!
Fixes & Tweaks
General
- Added game mode explainers to help new players understand how each game mode works, making it easier to learn the rules and get started.
- Updated the online player counter to include everyone who currently has DartCounter open, whether they're playing a game or simply browsing the app. This provides a more transparent view of how many players are currently using DartCounter.
Gameplay
- Made the game layout picker available on smaller screens, giving players more options to customise how their match looks.
Live Games & Lobbies
- Added a game type filter to the Live Games page, allowing you to filter between Standard, Ranked and Tournament games.
Tournaments
- Added a tournament check-in penalty system to improve tournament participation. Players who miss 3 consecutive tournament check-ins will receive a temporary 48-hour ban from joining new tournaments. Successfully checking in resets the counter.
UI & UX
- Improved the end-of-game statistics layout for matches with 3 or more players, making the statistics easier to read and compare.
- Redesigned the Local Games page with clearer game mode categories, making it easier to find your favourite games and introducing a dedicated space for the new Party Games.
