February dev update

Cameras, Challenges & Big Things Ahead

It’s been a busy month behind the scenes at DartCounter. Over the past few weeks we’ve focused heavily on stability improvements, fixing tournament issues, and launching a few things the community has been asking for.

The result so far? Significantly fewer bug reports than before. That’s a huge step in the right direction and we’re really happy with the progress, but we’re not done yet.

Here’s what’s been happening.

Camera Stability Improvements

One of our biggest priorities recently has been improving camera reliability.

Over the past month we rolled out several updates that significantly improve connection stability and also make it much faster to reconnect your camera if something goes wrong.

The impact has been clear: since these updates went live, we’ve seen significantly fewer bug reports related to cameras and connectivity.

While there’s always room to improve, we feel like cameras are now in a much better place.

Tournament Fixes

Alongside the camera improvements, we’ve been working through a range of tournament-related bug fixes.

Tournaments are one of the more complex parts of DartCounter, and while a lot has improved, we know there are still a few annoying issues left. Over the coming weeks we’ll continue focusing on polishing tournaments and squashing the remaining annoyances.

DartCounter Status Page

We’ve also launched something many of you have been asking for, a DartCounter status page.

This page lets you quickly check the health of our services and see if there are any ongoing incidents or maintenance.

You can find it here:

Our First Community Challenge

This month we also launched our very first community challenge.

The goal?
250,000 total 180s in two weeks.

It’s our first challenge, but definitely not the last. We want to organize many more events that involve the entire DartCounter community and give us fun ways to reward you all for playing.

What’s Coming Next...

Of course we’re not just working on fixes.

Behind the scenes we’re also working on several new features and improvements for DartCounter. Some of these are still early, while others are getting closer to release.

One feature in particular is getting very close, and it’s something the entire team is incredibly excited to show you. We can’t reveal it just yet, but it’s something we think a lot of players are going to love.

More on that soon!

Thanks for the Feedback

Many of the improvements we ship come directly from your feedback and bug reports, so please keep them coming.

We really appreciate everyone in the DartCounter community who takes the time to report issues, suggest improvements, and help make the platform better for everyone.

And if you have ideas for future community challenges, we’d love to hear them!
