Killer

Killer is a multiplayer darts game where the goal is simple: be the last player standing. Claim a segment, become Killer and take on your opponents. Play locally in DartCounter with 2 to 12 players, individually or in teams. Killer is DartCounter's first Party Game!

How to play Killer

Claim your segment

Every player or team needs a unique segment. Choose Random to let DartCounter assign segments automatically, or Manual to claim one by throwing a dart. If the segment is already taken, throw again until you hit an available one.

Become a Killer

Before you can attack anyone, you must become a Killer. Hit your own segment to build progress. The target is to equal to the starting lives selected for the game: for example, 5 starting lives means you need at least 5 points. Increase by segment is enabled by default, so hits count as follows:

Segment Progress / lives
Single 1
Double 2
Treble 3

If you switch off Increase by segment, every valid hit counts as 1 point. You do not need to land exactly on the target: reaching or exceeding it makes you a Killer immediately.

Take your opponent's lives

Once you are a Killer, hit an opponent's assigned segments to take their lives. With increase by segment enabled, singles take 1 life, doubles 2 and trebles 3. When it is disabled, every valid hit takes 1 life. Hitting your own segment after becoming a Killer has no effect.

Eliminate your opponents

Each player has one heart protected by shields. Successful hits remove shields, while any remaining damage can also remove the heart and eliminate the player. For example, if an opponent has two shields remaining, hitting a treble on their segment eliminates them immediately. Once eliminated, a player cannot return to the game.

Be the last one standing

The last player or team remaining wins.

Killer Game settings

Choose 3, 5 or 10 starting lives, or set a Custom value from 1 to 10. This also sets the progress needed to become a Killer. Increase by segment is on by default: switch it off if you want singles, doubles and trebles to count equally. Segment assignment can be Random or Manual, as described above.

Play Killer in Teams

Teammates share one assigned segment and one pool of lives, and take alternating turns, as in a doubles darts match. The team must become a Killer before it can attack other teams.

Play Killer with Target Omni

Target Omni can automatically detect throws while DartCounter tracks the game. Manual dart entry is always available, even when Omni is connected.
