Around the Clock Darts: Game Rules

Around the Clock darts, also known as Around the World, is one of the simplest and most effective darts practice games. Hit every number from 1 to 20 in order and train accuracy across the entire board.
How to play Around the Clock darts?
The goal is simple:
- Hit every number from 1 to 20 in order
- Finish on either the single bull or bullseye
Because you play across the whole board, it’s a simple way to build consistency and improve full board control.
Around the Clock darts rules
Each player throws three darts per turn. You keep aiming for the same number until you hit it. Once you hit it, you move on to the next. Any hit counts. Singles, doubles and trebles, all are fine unless you change the pre-game settings. You cannot skip numbers.
Finish the game with a ‘Single bull’ or ‘Bullseye’.
This practice game helps you track your hit rate and improve your darts accuracy.
Winning the game
In solo practice, the goal is to finish using fewer darts each session and improve your darts hit rate.
When playing against others, the winner is the first player to complete the full sequence. The other players can then continue until they also finish the clock.
Tracking your progress in DartCounter
When you play Around the Clock in the DartCounter app, you can track your darts practice. You can view your hit rate percentage and how many darts you need to complete a round. There’s even a heat map with interactive dartboard scoring input available under keyboard options, or the OMNI Autoscoring.
Free users can review their hit percentage of the last game played. Ultimate users can view much more, including total darts thrown and long-term statistics for deeper insights.
Game settings
DartCounter offers simple settings to adjust the challenge. You can choose how you’d like to finish the game with either ‘Single Bull’ or ‘Bullseye’. You can also decide which segments count as a hit. For example, you can play with any segment, or challenge yourself by aiming for singles, doubles, or trebles only.
You can set how many hits are needed on each number before moving on. You can also change the order of the game or enable ‘Increase by Segment’. With this option selected, a single moves you up one step, a double moves you two, and a treble moves you three steps forward.
Difference between Around the Clock and Singles Training
Around the Clock is different from Singles Training. In Singles Training, you move to the next number after each round. It does not matter if you hit the target or not. You score points by how many hits you get on the target.
In Around the Clock it’s not about points, but a hit percentage and how many darts you need to finish the clock. The goal is to hit the current number so you can move forward. You have to keep throwing at the same target until you hit it.
Improve your darts accuracy with Around the Clock
Around the Clock darts is a darts practice game that works well for both solo sessions and matches against other players. Because you visit every number on the board, it helps improve your darts game, board awareness, and consistency.
You can play alone and track how many darts you need to finish, or play head-to-head where the first player to complete the full sequence wins. When you play in DartCounter, you can keep track of your score in the app. This helps you see your hit rate percentage and total darts thrown. With period-based statistics (available in Ultimate), you can also compare different practice periods and follow your progress over time.
Around the Clock is suited for players looking for a simple darts game, a clear darts practice routine, and a structured way to train regularly. It is a great way to improve accuracy across the entire dartboard.
